PNS ZULFIQUAR arrives at Port of Aqaba, Jordan

Aqaba: 25 June 2021 (TDI):  Pakistan Navy Ship ZULFIQUAR visited the Port of Aqaba, Jordan, on Friday. This visit was a part of the Pakistan Navy’s overseas deployment to the Mediterranean/Red Sea.

Upon its arrival, the ship was received by the Head of Royal Jordanian Navy (Operations & Training Division), Defence Attaché of Pakistan in Jordan, and the RJN Officers.

During their stay at port, Mission Commander Commodore Syed Rizwan Khalid along with Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQUAR Captain Rao Ahmed Imran Anwar met with the Governor of Aqaba, Mr. Mohammed Al Rafalah, Commissioner Jordan Maritime Commission Mr. Mohammed Al Salman, Commissioner Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Mr. Nayef Al Bakeet, and Director Aqaba Development Cooperation, Mr. Bashar Abu Rummani.

The matters of mutual interest were discussed and the contribution of the Pakistan Navy to regional peace and maritime security was acknowledged in the meetings. The Mission Commander conveyed well wishes from Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi for the people of Jordan in general and RJNF in particular. During the stay at Aqaba, the Commander of Royal Jordanian Naval Force Colonel Hisham Al-Jarrah, Jordanian government Officials, Diplomats, and RJN Officers also visited PNS ZULFIQUAR.

A contingent of the Pakistan Navy participated in the centennial celebrations of the Kingdom of Jordan at Naval Base Aqaba.

On departure, the Ship conducted Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with RJN. The visit of the Pakistan Navy Ship to the Port was a reaffirmation of PN-RJN collaboration and is expected to further foster brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan.
