PMs of Pakistan and Denmark discuss Afghanistan situation

Islamabad, 18 August 2021 (TDI): In a phone call received by PM of Pakistan Imran Khan by the PM of Denmark Mette Frederiksen important issues related to regional security on the situation of Afghanistan were discussed.

The Danish PM Mette Frederiksen stated that they are grateful to the Government of Pakistan for their valuable assistance in facilitating the safe transit of DK citizens and government personnel from Kabul. He highlighted the role of Pakistani PM in facilitating the evacuation of diplomatic staff and staff of international organizations etc. The PM of Denmark termed it as a spirit of cooperation and goodwill and moreover thanked him.

 

Furthermore, PM Imran Khan put forward Pakistan’s perspective emphasizing the importance of ensuring safety and security as well as protection of the rights of all Afghans. He also stressed a need for a comprehensive political settlement regarding Afghanistan.
