PM Vows to Eradicate Terrorism

Islamabad, 27 August 2024 (TDI): Condemning the terrorist attacks in Balochistan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday vowed to root out terrorism from the country.

Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that no talks would be held with the enemies of the country as well as no soft approach will be adopted to deal with them.

It is high time to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country and the government has provided all kinds of resources to the armed forces in this regard, he added.

However, the premier also said that dialogue would be held only with those who recognize the constitution and the country’s flag but there would be no negotiations with terrorists.

He said that the sacrifices rendered by people and the security personnel in the fight against terror would not go to waste. The Armed Forces of Pakistan and the entire nation are united and standing firm to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.

PM Shehbaz further said the enemy wanted to stop Pakistan’s development and to create chaos in the country.

On Sunday midnight, At least fifty people, including fourteen security men, lost their lives in different parts of Balochistan as dozens of militants affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) went on a rampage across the province, storming police stations, blowing up railway tracks, and setting fire to almost 3 dozen vehicles.

In subsequent operations, the armed forces’ media wing ISPR said twenty-one militants were neutralized by the security forces as Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi pledged to crush terrorism in the province.

In the latest flare of violence, the militants targeted security personnel as well as civilians, especially those hailing from Punjab.
