Islamabad (TDI):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Baku, Azerbaijan, to participate in the World Leaders Climate Action Summit, being held on November 12-13 as part of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference, where world’s leaders are gathering.
At the Summit, the Prime Minister will make a strong call for climate solidarity and climate justice based on the established principles of equity and common interests, but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities.
Pakistan is one of the world’s top country that is being badly affected by climate change with unparallel massive losses in 2022’s floods.

Pakistan is also among the first countries that has adopted UN SDGs as a policy of the state after a debate and amending certain laws in the parliament showing the country’s robust commitment to the UN goals. Climate is a segment of the SDGs.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, cabinet members and senior officials will accompany the Prime Minister.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with participating world leaders.
This time climate issue is expected to be discussed in bilateral interactions along with economic and diplomatic ties. Pakistani government is actively seeking global cooperation to tackle its climate challenges.
Essentially, it is working to build international support to address the country’s climate issues, crucial for climate action. This involves collaborating with other nations, organizations and stakeholders to share knowledge, resources and expertise.
