Lachin (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived in Lachin, Azerbaijan, to participate in Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit.
At Lachin airport, the prime minister was received by Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin and other diplomatic staff, according to a statement issued by the PM Office.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Fatemi accompanied the premier.
PM Shehbaz along with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will participate in the trilateral summit.
He will also hold a bilateral meeting with Ilham Aliyev.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif winded up his two-day bilateral trip to Iran on Tuesday and departed for Azerbaijan, on the third leg of this four-country visit.

He arrived Azerbaijan at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev. Following visits to Turkiye, Iran and Azerbaijan, he will later proceed to Tajikistan.
At Mehrabad Airport, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu, and senior diplomatic officials saw off the prime minister and his delegation.
During the two-day visit to Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz held meeting with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

The meetings focused on Pakistan-Iran ties, especially the promotion of trade and regional connectivity, besides covering regional matters, with appreciation for Tehran’s efforts to maintain peace in the region during the war imposed on Pakistan by India.
Both sides also discussed the strengthening of strategic relations between the two nations, as well as the immediate cessation of Zionist oppression in Gaza and achieving a sustainable and enduring ceasefire.
