PM Shahbaz Sharif Expresses Sympathies, during Flood

Islamabad, 24 August 2024 (TDI): Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity and sympathies with the people of Bangladesh because of floods that have caused huge loss of life and destruction in the country. In a letter addressed to Muhammad  Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh, PM Shahbaz Sharif prolonged distress over the tragic event in Bangladesh and extended Pakistan’s support during the difficult time.

Pakistan’s Solidarity with Bangladesh

PM Shahbaz delivered his condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives and affected by this natural disaster. The People of Pakistan stand with the Bangladeshi brothers and sisters during this challenging time. He spoke on the behalf of the people and government of Pakistan. “We are ready to assist in every way we can. Pakistan and Bangladesh share a long history of cooperation and friendship and it is essential time to support each other.”

Extending Assistance and Support

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif offered assistance to Bangladesh by sending emergency relief supplies, containing medicine, food, and other important items, to help the suffering of those affected by the disaster. He also mentioned in the letter, to share Pakistan’s expertise in disaster management and recovery efforts. “Pakistan is prepared to make all possible efforts for the people of Bangladesh.” He stated, “We hope we can overcome challenges through collective efforts.”

History of Cooperation

Bangladesh and Pakistan possess a long history of cooperation in several fields such as disaster management. Prime Minister’s offer sets an example of the continued legacy of coordination, and friendship, and showcases the bond between the two nations. As in the past, both countries have faced natural calamities and have managed assistance for one another in need. Bangladesh will stabilize soon and affected communities will be rebuilt with hope and resilience.

Pakistan’s letter to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus accentuates the empathy and solidarity that Pakistan feels for Bangladesh. Pakistan is exhibiting its promise to stand with its neighbor in need. The people of Pakistan always keep Bangladesh in their prayers and thoughts, hoping for a speedy recovery.
