Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed his deepest sympathies to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim following the devastating floods caused by torrential rains across several states in Malaysia.
In a telephone conversation, Prime Minister Sharif extended heartfelt condolences to the Malaysian people for the loss of lives and property, assuring them that Pakistan stood in solidarity with its Malaysian brothers and sisters during this difficult time.
The Prime Minister also lauded the swift and efficient response of the Malaysian government in managing the crisis and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to provide any necessary assistance.
As a gesture of support, Pakistan will be sending immediate humanitarian aid to Malaysia.
Positive Momentum in Pakistan- Malaysia Ties
Reflecting on the recent visit of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Pakistan in October, Prime Minister Sharif expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in bilateral relations.
He noted that several trade-related issues identified during the Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit had already been resolved amicably and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim thanked his Pakistani counterpart for his support and agreed on the importance of continuing to work together to advance bilateral ties.
Both leaders agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level visits, with both Prime Minister Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Malaysia expected to visit Kuala Lumpur early next year.
