Ghizer (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Babur Model Village for flood victims in Ghizer on Wednesday.
The Boober Model Village, which covers 110 canals and includes 62 homes, is part of a larger development plan that also includes the construction of the 216-kilometer Gilgit-Shandur highway.
Addressing a ceremony where he handed over property documents of newly built homes to affected families, the prime minister recalled his visit in August 2022, when floods caused by climate change had devastated the entire village.
“A new settlement has now been constructed for the affected families, who have been given ownership of their homes,” the premier said, directing authorities to ensure that all essential facilities are provided to the residents.

He said the dispensary in the model village should have all the facilities, including ultrasound, X-ray, and maternity services.
