Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the need for Pakistan-Qatar relations to further deepen their economic, trade, and investment ties, highlighting the mutual benefits such collaboration would bring to both nations.
Addressing a reception on Monday hosted by the Qatari Embassy in Islamabad to mark Qatar’s National Day, the prime minister said the upcoming visit of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Pakistan would pave the way for strengthening bilateral relations.
“I eagerly await His Highness’ visit, which will elevate our brotherly relations and translate them into actionable investments for mutually beneficial projects,” he remarked.
In his keynote address as the chief guest, PM Shehbaz noted Qatar’s enthusiasm in supporting skilled Pakistani youth, particularly in the fields of information technology (IT) and artificial intelligence (AI).
“We are working on a comprehensive program to send talented Pakistani youth to Qatar,” he said, adding that these individuals would serve as “great ambassadors of Pakistan” in the Gulf nation.
He reiterated the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Qatar, terming the relationship as “unbreachable” and founded on mutual respect and shared aspirations.
The prime minister congratulated Qatar on its National Day and lauded the dynamic leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for steering the country towards remarkable progress.

He particularly highlighted Qatar’s successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup, which, he said, demonstrated the nation’s energy, vision, and commitment to excellence.
Shehbaz also extended his appreciation to Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani for her support in hosting the exhibition “Manzar: Art and Architecture of Pakistan from the 1940s to Today” at the National Museum of Qatar.
The exhibition, inaugurated by the prime minister, showcases Pakistan’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
Pakistan-Qatar Deepening Cooperation
In his address, Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater praised the enduring friendship between the two nations, highlighting significant progress in bilateral relations in various sectors, including trade, education, culture, and disaster relief.
He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan on initiatives that promote mutual growth and prosperity.
Projects such as rebuilding flood-affected residential areas in Pakistan and providing education to out-of-school children reflect the depth of this partnership, the envoy said.
The ambassador also highlighted Qatar’s global humanitarian role, particularly in conflict-affected and disaster-hit regions, underscoring its commitment to sustainable development and peaceful solutions.
Meanwhile, the prime minister shared updates on Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts, including a recent conversation with his Lebanese counterpart regarding the safe evacuation of 250 Pakistani pilgrims stranded in Damascus.

He expressed gratitude for Lebanon’s assurance of full support in facilitating their return via land routes.
