Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) operational performance, confirming the downing of a sixth Indian fighter jet—a Mirage 2000—near Pampore, east of Srinagar, on the night of May 6–7.
He stated that the incident reflects the PAF’s outstanding combat capabilities and the unwavering determination of Pakistan Armed Forces to defend the nation at all costs.
His remarks came during a visit to the PAF’s operational base in Kamra on Thursday, where he lauded the Air Force’s combat capabilities and reaffirmed commitment to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty against any aggression, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR said in a statement that PM Shehbaz met with frontline soldiers, including pilots, engineers, and technicians, highly appreciated their precision, skills, professionalism, and commitment to Pakistan’s defense.
He said in his address that Pakistan’s Armed Forces exhibited exemplary restraint, strategic foresight, and operational capabilities after India’s unprovoked aggression.
