Beijing (TDI): The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force of China is set to debut its new stealth fighter jet, the J-35A, at Airshow China 2024, as announced on Tuesday.
In a press conference commemorating the 75th anniversary of its establishment, the PLA Air Force revealed that it would showcase 36 types of equipment for both aerial flight demonstrations and ground static displays.
This event aims to highlight the advancements in its military hardware comprehensively and up close.
The renowned Bayi and Red Falcon aerobatic teams will participate, performing with 26 aircraft spanning seven different models, including the J-20 stealth fighter, J-16 multirole fighter, and YU-20A tanker aircraft.
The static display will feature a categorization of equipment, showcasing new entries such as the J-35A medium-sized multirole stealth fighter, the HQ-19 surface-to-air missile system, and an advanced armed reconnaissance drone for the first time.

Additionally, the cargo hold of the Y-20 transport aircraft will be open for public viewing, with access managed through a lottery system.
According to military experts, the introduction of the J-35A, alongside the J-20, positions China as the second nation globally to operate two types of stealth fighter jets, following the United States’ F-22 and F-35.

The J-35 is anticipated to be capable of operating from aircraft carriers, further enhancing China’s aerial capabilities.
Airshow China 2024 is scheduled to take place from November 12 to 17 in Zhuhai, located in South China’s Guangdong Province.
