Islamabad, 27 February 2023 (TDI): A pioneering conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) was held in Islamabad. The first-of-its-kind conference was held at the Pak-China Friendship Center.

It was held under the patronage of 10pearls, a leading end-to-end digital services company. The massive participation by the stakeholders vouched for the success of the event.

More than 1500 registrations, including professionals, students, enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs contributed to the triumph of the summit.

The AI summit was first inaugurated in 2019 with the objective of “exploring the transformative world of AI”.

The initiative further aimed to develop a shareable framework of knowledge on developments in AI, and acknowledge innovation by emerging AI entrepreneurs.

It also targeted informed conversations with leading international and indigenous AI experts, and provide explicit and accurate knowledge about AI tools, technologies, and unfolding techniques.

The AI Summit was held at ITCN Asia. It featured more than 30 distinguished guest speakers who enlightened the participants with stimulating conversation and catchy tech talk.

The Summit had well-organized workshops on novelty themes of AI, side by side engaging the audience with demos of innovative endeavors by budding AI startups.

Syeda Sana Hussain, Senior Director, of People and Programs, 10Pearls, shared her views calling the Summit a massive success.

According to her the conference and workshops provided copious avenues of engagement for the participants. The startups that showcased their products received tremendous appreciation, attracting potential investors.

Intriguing Tech Talk

The event rolled out a forum for conducting Tech Talks by esteemed AI professionals. The sessions included “Cybersecurity Gets Smart” by Peter Hesse (EVP and CSO, 10Pearls); & “AI & National Governance” by Tariq Malik (Former Chief Technology Officer, GHQ).

Also, topics like “Tech Innovation and AI” by Syed Meesum Raza (Vice President, Afiniti); “Impact of AI in the Fintech Space” by Ammar Karim (Head of BI and Data Science, Telenor Easypaisa); and “Optimization of BizOps through AI” by Muhammad Awais Ejaz (Consulting Director, TenX) were addressed.

Stimulating Panel Discussions

The Summit held three Panel Discussions. The first panel, “AI Disruption in the Startup Ecosystem”, included panelists Aiman Khan (CEO, SLOSH AI Solutions), Muhammad Usman (CEO, RevolveAI and Edge Store), Umer Sufiyan (CEO, DiveDeep AI) and Kaleem Khan (Co[1]founder and CEO, Adlytic AI).

The second Panel’s theme was “Explainable AI & Healthcare 5.0”. It was moderated by Samar Hasan (Founder & CEO, Epiphany).

The Panel included eminent names such as Dr. Nimra Qureshi (Founder & CEO, SeeVitals Solutions); Shahrukh Babar (Co-Founder, Xylexa Inc.), and Shan Ul Haq (Founder & CTO, XpertFlow).

The Third panel explored the theme of “GPT-3: Navigating the Crossroads of Technology and Humanity”.

It featured leading professionals, including Muhammad Aamir Yaqub (Director Engineering, 10Pearls); Aqsa Kausar, (Head of AI, RedBuffer); and Shakeel Raja (Director Data Science, TechGenies).

In addition to Tech Talks and Panel Discussions, an informal fireside chat was also held on “Intersection of AI and Big Data: Opportunities and Challenges” by Aamer Ejaz, Chief Digital Officer, Jazz.

Hands-on Workshops

Alongside the conference, The AI summit also hosted three workshops on notable AI tools, technologies, and techniques. The workshops received a pragmatic response from the audience. Around 350 professionals and students attended the workshops.

The workshops sessions ranged from “Introduction to Kaggle and Progression System” by Adnan Zaidi, Ambassador, Kaggle; “Unpacking Facial Recognition technology” by Shehrooz Sattar, Principal Software Engineer, 10Pearls; to “Creating Interactive AI Applications” by Ahmad Anis, Machine Learning Engineer, RedBuffer.

Ingenious Product Demos

The highlights of the AI summit involved products and prototype demos for developing AI startups. Six startups out of 40 plus, were shortlisted to showcase their work. These included Autilent, VisionRD, Deutics Global, Adlytic AI, AI Care, and SINGE Network.

The platform of AI Summit provided a remarkable window for promising startups to link to professionals and investors.
