Kabul, 30 August 2021, (TDI): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight cargoes medical assistance in collaboration with WHO to assist Afghan people.
On 26 August, several Afghan civilians were injured in an airport attack. Due to a lack of medical equipment, WHO provided medical assistance to Wazir Akbar Khan hospital in Afghanistan. As the treatment of sufferers is underway, the medical aid provided to the hospital started to reduce. PIA has provided air transport facility and WHO supplied medical accessories.
Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan, Mansoor khan stated that Pakistan sent its first PIA flight with WHO to facilitate the Afghan people with medical necessities. There is an alarming situation in Afghanistan. Pakistan presented its positive image and sent a national flight to help the victims. The assistance provided is enough to rehabilitate the 750 damaged victims and ensures the fundamental health requirements of 10,000 people for up to three months.
