Islamabad, 30 November 2021 (TDI): UAE Embassy launched a beautiful photo exhibition to celebrate the 50 years of diplomatic ties with Pakistan. UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi inaugurated the photo exhibition at Islamabad’s Centaurus Mall.
The Ambassador described the exhibition based on “trust, love and feelings” between people and leaders of the two countries. The exhibition reflects five-strong decades of brotherly ties between Pakistan and UAE.
Pakistan UAE diplomatic ties date back to 1971 when UAE was established. There have been diverse cooperation in wider-ranging of sectors including education, people to people ties, health, defense, and trade. Pakistan was the first country that has recognized UAE. UAE has remained one of the most important supporters and donors in terms of financial assistance to Pakistan.
The beautiful Exibhition includes pictures from UAE National Archives. These historic photographs reflect five decades of strong brotherly ties between two Muslim countries.
Ambassador of UAE, while speaking on the occasion said that these pictures cover the visit of the royal family and other important leaders of UAE. These also reflect UAE’s important humanitarian support projects in Pakistan. He has added further that the UAE and Pakistan support each other. These pictures covered the meetings of the important leaders from both sides as well. Highlighting the cooperation, UAE Ambassador said that it is now time to start thinking about the next 50 years and how to build in our generations for education, investment, education, healthcare, and technology.
During the exhibition, former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CEO of the Centaurus Mall, Sardar Yasir Ilyas said that the exhibition is an effort to pay rich tribute to UAE and strong UAE-Pakistan collaboration. UAE has played a very important part in Pakistan’s growth. Similarly, our diaspora is also living in the Emirate and contributing towards the state-building of the country.
While highlighting the recent and ongoing Expo Dubai, Sardar Ilyas said that UAE has supported Pakistan in its growth through the promotion of the Pakistan Pavilion. This reflects the exemplary friendship and commitment for Pakistan and its growth. He has also lauded the efforts of the UAE, especially the hospitality and tourism sectors. He said that Pakistan can learn from the experience of the UAE and investors from the country can invest in Pakistan’s tourism industry.
