Manila, 2 January 2022 (TDI): Philippines and Slovak Republic celebrated the 29th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them on Saturday. The diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Slovakia were formally established on January 1, 1993.

During the three decades of the relationship, the trade between them reached up to US$ 22.8 million. In the year 2020, Slovak Republic has exported worth US $ 1.7 million.

Diplomatic Anniversary with Negara Brunei Darussalam
The Philippines also celebrated the 38th anniversary of diplomatic Relations with Negara Brunei Darussalam. Formal Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 1 January 1984.
Since 38 years, the trade between them in these 4 decades reached US$ 186.77 Million. Brunei is home to 20,366 Filipinos who are staying there for study or work purposes.
The two governments also fly 4 International Airlines between them to carry the passengers across the borders. Brunei also provided US$ 220 million in terms of investment in the Philippines over the course of the diplomatic relationship between the two.
The total annual exports between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines this year stayed at US$ 168.96 Million. The two states are 1251 KM away from each other. These 38 years have witnessed 6 Philippines Presidents visiting Brunei.
Moreover, the well-known Filipino architect and National Artist Leandro V. Locsin designed the Istana Nurul Iman in Brunei. Istana Nurul Iman is the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei.
