Philippines celebrates Rizal Day

Manila, 31 December 2021 (TDI): Philippine had celebrated Rizal Day across the country yesterday. Philippines nation has been marking the 125th death anniversary of Jose Rizal.

During the ceremony of commemorating Dr. Jose, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte honored the front-line workers in the Pandemic accordingly.

He noted that as they are remembering Rizal that it is necessary to mention the modern-day heroes of Pandemic. Filipinos consider the movement as a part of freedom and self-determination, he noted.

President Duterte was for the first time participating in a Manila ceremony in three years for Rizal Day.

Earlier in 2018 Rizal Day President of the Philippines was on a short leave at his hometown as suggested by the doctors to take a rest.

About Jose Rizal

Rizal was a famous novelist and poet and used to write essays and articles. He was the revolutionary image who participated in Philippine Revolution.

Hence, the day was celebrated in honor of the life and work of José Rizal.

His writings remained key during the Philippines Revolution. They were highly impressive for the people.

Furthermore, he always expressed his revolutionary thoughts through these written pieces accordingly.

Since he was executed in Manila at the age of 35 for the crime of rebellion under Spanish colonial rule, he is remembered with dignity in the Philippines.

The novelist published the first anti-Spanish colonial-era novel Noli Me Tangere at age 25.

He also wrote its sequel, El Filibuserismo, at the age of 30.

Moreover, the Philippines diplomats also laid wreaths on the tomb of Dr. Jose in Xinjiang province yesterday.

The country has been celebrating the occasion for the second time.
