Peshawar (TDI): In a vibrant celebration on Wednesday, the China Window cultural center hosted a special event in Peshawar to commemorate the 76th Founding Day of China.
The gathering drew senior civil and government dignitaries, provincial ministers, senators, and representatives from diverse walks of life.
The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthems of both China and Pakistan. A festive cake-cutting further heightened the spirit of camaraderie.
Addressing the audience, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Secretary, Shahab Ali Shah, underscored the significance of the day, not only for China but also for Pakistan.
He described the founding day as “a symbol of the strength, unity, and resilience of a great nation.”
He also emphasized the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, calling it “sweeter than honey, deeper than the seas, and higher than the Himalayas.”
Highlighting China’s exceptional development trajectory, Shah praised President Xi Jinping’s leadership, citing the country’s ascension to the world’s second‑largest economy and its success in lifting millions out of poverty.

He also pointed to the vision of a “community with a shared future for mankind” as being aligned with Pakistan’s own aspirations for cooperation and harmony.
A central element of Shah’s remarks was the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which he described as more than an infrastructure program; it is a “bridge of connectivity, opportunity, and hope.”
He called for Peshawar, given its strategic position near Afghanistan and Central Asia, to emerge as a hub of trade, culture, and regional exchange, thereby driving prosperity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across neighboring areas.
At the outset of the program, Amjad Aziz Malik, administrator of China Window, extended warm congratulations to both the government and people of China, wishing for the continued flourishing of Sino‑Pak friendship.
Distinguished guests included former world squash champions Jansher Khan and Qamar Zaman, former governor Engr. Shaukatullah, Vice Chancellor Razia Sultana, and provincial ministers and assembly members such as Qasim Ali Shah, Mehr Sultana, Shazia Tehmas, and Aiman Jalil.
The function provided a platform to reaffirm diplomatic ties, celebrate China’s achievements, and envision deeper regional cooperation through development partnerships like CPEC.
