Orenburg, 22 September 2021 (TDI): A military exercise named “Peace Mission 2021” to counter-terrorism officially started in Orenburg, Russia on 13 September. The wrap-up of the exercise is on 25 September. This military exercise is for the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The eight member-states of SCO are the participants of this exercise named Tajikistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Russia, India, and Kazakhstan. The participating troops comprise 4000 military personnel, around which 588 military personnel are from China. This military exercise aims to enhance security cooperation and defense among member states to safeguard regional security and peace.

Xi Jinping, the Chinese President, also talked about the cooperation among SCO states. He said on Friday, “Member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should join hands to safeguard peace and stability, which are “more precious than gold.”
