Lahore (TDI): Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment & Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has called for speeding up the process of privatization of Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
He made these remarks while presiding over a meeting of the Privatization Commission Board (PCB) in Lahore on Wednesday, according to a press release.

During the meeting, the minister instructed that a detailed presentation be arranged with the Ministry of Power to resolve any outstanding issues related to DISCO’s privatization.
The meeting also discussed the privatization of various other projects currently in the pipeline. The minister directed the board to speed up the privatization process and ensure the execution with complete transparency.

He recommended hiring reputable consultancy firms to assist in the privatization efforts for better efficiency.
The board also discussed the appointment of Financial Advisors (FAs) for various privatization projects, and board members shared their suggestions to improve the process.
