Islamabad, 10 September 2021 (TDI): In the presence of Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Chaudhry Fawad, Prensa Latina, and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) signed today at Islamabad. This cooperation agreement will allow the exchange of news and collaboration in the area of journalism between the two countries.
Mr. Mobashir Hassan, Executive Director of APP and Cuban Ambassador Zéner Caro, representing Prensa Latina, signed the document that will enable both agencies to exchange their daily news dispatches in English and via the Internet.
During the signing ceremony, the Pakistani Minister of Information highlighted the significance of this agreement, the first of its kind signed by his country’s main state news agency with its Latin American counterparts.
For his part, the Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan underlined the importance of maintaining a fluid exchange of information between both countries, which are subject to frequent campaigns of media discrediting and manipulation in the major transnational media.
