Paralympic Games to Kick Off Today in Paris

Paris, 28 August 2024 (TDI): The Paralympic Games 2024 will officially begin in Paris, France today (Wednesday) with a spectacular opening ceremony.

Paralympics will include games like cycling, taekwondo, swimming and table tennis, athletics and others.

Held every four years, the Paralympic Games are a premier international sporting event for athletes with physical disabilities.

The star-studded opening ceremony will commence tonight at 11 pm PST at the Place de la Concorde. The action will conclude on Sunday, 8 September.

The Paris Paralympics will feature a record number of delegations and female athletes.

Para-athlete Haider Ali will represent Pakistan as the country’s sole para-athlete. He will compete in the F37 category of the discus throw event on September 6.

After the success of the Paris Olympics, the hype for the Paralympic Games has skyrocketed. According to BBC, nearly two million tickets have already been sold, with 0.5 million still up for sale.

The Games will also be telecast live in more regions than ever. In Pakistan, ASports HD, and ARY Zap will televise the mega event.
