International Friendship Day
First-time World Friendship Crusade, the international civil organization, proposed the concept of International Friendship Day in 1958. Its founder, Ramon Artemio Bracho from Puerto Pinasco, Paraguay, came up with the idea for International Friendship Day.
Later in 2011, UN General Assembly proclaimed the International Day of Friendship.
The day aims with the idea of friendship between peoples, countries, cultures, and individuals. The Resolution emphasizes involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities.
