Ramallah, 18 July 2024 (TDI): The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the rapid implementation of the racist colonial policies by the Israeli government, aimed at seizing thousands of dunums of land owned by Palestinian citizens.
The latest transgression involves the confiscation of 441 dunums in the villages of Shabtin, Yar Ammar, and Deir Qadis, located west of Ramallah.
The Ministry considers that the Israeli government continues its blatant challenge to the relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, to introduce the greatest changes to the existing historical, political, legal and demographic reality of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in a way that undermines the opportunity to implement the principle of the two-state solution.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates calls for immediate and effective international sanctions against the colonial-settler occupation system.
It urges the global community to compel the occupying state to cease all settlement activities and dismantle the colonialist militias.
Settlement activities pose a grave threat to the conflict arena and hinder the revival of the peace process and the achievement of a political resolution to the conflict.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized that Israel’s policy toward the West Bank is dooming any prospect of a two-state solution with the Palestinians. Violence and arrests have soared in the Israeli-occupied territory since the Gaza war erupted over Hamas’s October 7 attacks.
Through administrative and legal steps, Israel is changing the geography of the West Bank, Guterres said in a statement read by his chief of staff, Courtenay Rattray, during a meeting of the Security Council.
