Ramallah, 8 July 2023 (TDI): The foreign minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, arrived in Ramallah, West Bank, on July 7, where he met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other high officials.

Palestinian foreign minister Riyad Al-Maliki and diplomatic advisor to the President, Majdi Khaldi, warmly welcomed Oman’s minister at the Presidential Palace, highlighting the two countries’ deep respect and strong relations.

Unified efforts to resolve the Palestine issue

Sayyid Badr engaged in comprehensive talks with his Palestinian counterpart, where they discuss the current Palestinian situation and various regional and international developments.

Referring to the recent Israeli assault on the Jenin refugee camp, the two leaders called upon the international community to take appropriate measures to stop settlements and Israeli plans to annex parts of the Palestinian territories.

During the meeting, the two sides explored the methods of advancing Arab and international efforts to revive the peace process in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the vision of the global community based on the principle of a two-state solution.

The Arab Peace Initiative was introduced by the late Saudi King Abdullah at the 2002 Arab League summit, providing a comprehensive plan to end the long-standing Arab-Israel conflict.
