Pakistan’s Tourism and Culture Event Held in Washington

Washington D.C., 4 November 2021 (TDI): The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. organized an event to promote Pakistan’s tourism sector and cultural diversity on Wednesday. The event highlighted the vibrant culture of Pakistan through enchanting photographs.

In his welcome remarks, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, stated that Pakistan serves as the birthplace of great civilizations like Gandhara, Indus, and Mehrgarh. He also commended the Embassy’s efforts during Covid-19 for arranging virtual tours and bringing Pakistan’s cultural heritage to the United States.

The Chairman of Pakistan Senate Defence Committee, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed delivered a keynote address at the occasion stating that Pakistan is blessed with a rich and diverse cultural heritage. He admired the country’s breathtaking landscapes and historical sites during his remarks.

The Senator further highlighted various tourism opportunities offered by Pakistan, including deserts, majestic mountains, beautiful coastline, and fertile plains. Enumerating the state’s significance as being home to some of the holiest sites in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism, Senator Mushahid also shed light on the country’s spiritual tourism.

In addition, Senator Mushahid invited the guests to visit Pakistan and experience its various splendors. He also appreciated the hospitality exhibited by the people of Pakistan on all occasions.

The event celebrated Pakistani music and cuisine, besides a photo exhibition showcasing various aspects of Pakistan’s architectural beauty and vibrant population. The guests welcomed the Embassy’s efforts to promote Pakistan’s tourism sector and rich culture in the United States.
