Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s rice exports to China surpassed $62.26 million in 2025, driven by strong shipments of semi- or wholly milled rice and sustained demand for broken rice across multiple Chinese provinces, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs of China.
In terms of volume, Pakistan exported approximately 157.74 million kilograms of rice to China last year. Semi- or wholly milled rice accounted for the bulk, totaling 110.10 million kilograms and generating $46.86 million in export revenue. Broken rice varieties contributed the remaining 47.63 million kilograms.
Guangdong Province emerged as the largest importer, taking in around 61.8 million kilograms of Pakistani rice valued at over $26 million. Imports included significant quantities of both milled and broken rice used in food processing and industrial applications.

Beijing was the second-largest market, importing roughly 42.93 million kilograms of semi- or wholly milled rice worth $15.48 million, reflecting strong consumer demand in the capital.

Other notable destinations included Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Heilongjiang, showing a wide geographic reach of Pakistani rice throughout China’s domestic market.
