Islamabad, 23 March 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tileuberdi. The meeting between both officials was held on the sidelines of the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi of Kazakhstan visited Pakistan on Tuesday, 22 March 2022. He was here to attend the 48th meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The Foreign Office of Pakistan gave him a warm welcome.

Highlights of the meeting

In the meeting, both sides discussed Pakistan-Kazakhstan bilateral relations. Furthermore, they also talked about other issues of international importance like exchanging their views on Afghanistan’s issue.

Imran Khan recollected his meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The meeting was held in September 2021, on the sidelines of the SCO Summit.

Recollecting Pakistan’s “Vision Central Asia” policy, Imran Khan emphasized the need to expedite the cooperation to enhance trade and connectivity between the two countries.

Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi briefed the Pakistani Prime Minister on developments in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, he also elaborated on the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Moreover, Imran Khan ensured Pakistan’s commitment to carry on with enhancing cooperation between the two countries. Also, he reaffirmed cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

He also talked about cooperation at international and regional forums such as UN, OIC, SCO and ECO. Correspondingly, Imran Khan looked forward to the visit of President of Kazakhstan’s visit to Pakistan this year.

Meeting with Chairman Senate of Pakistan

On Wednesday, 23 March 2022, the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan met with the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Sadiq Sanjrani. The meeting took place at the Parliament House Islamabad. The two parties discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
