Ambassadors of ECO Member States meets Pakistan Prime Minister
Pakistan’s Prime Minister met the resident Ambassadors of ECO Member States at the Prime Minister House.

Islamabad, 23 October 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar meet the resident Ambassadors of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Member States at the Prime Minister House over lunch in Islamabad, on October 23.

Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar says Pakistan is keen to further strengthen bilateral ties with each ECO member country.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the ECO for regional development.

He emphasized that the ECO member states shared a common history and culture.

Today, the region faces common challenges that need to be dealt with to create opportunities for collective growth and prosperity.

In this regard, the Prime Minister highlighted connectivity, trade, energy and economic cooperation.

He looked forward to his meetings with the Heads of States of ECO Member countries on the margins of the 16th ECO Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 8-9 November, 2023.

The Ambassadors reaffirmed their respective countries’ desire to build stronger relations with Pakistan and also their collective commitment to ECO’s vision and objectives of ECO.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani held a highly productive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, on October 11.

Foreign Minister congratulated him on successfully hosting ECO 27th Council of Ministers. They reiterated their resolve to further cement relations in economy and trade, connectivity and people to people contacts.

Moreover, Foreign Minister also met with ECO SG Khusrav Noziri in Shusha, Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the Ministerial meeting of ECO.

Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ECO vision and its goals and objectives.

SG appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting development and connectivity in region.

He also had a productive meeting with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan at the 27th ECO-COM.

Recognizing the significance of Pakistan-Uzbekistan ties, they remain resolute about strengthening their commercial ties and expediting the Trans-Afghan Railways project.

Jalil Abbas Jilani pleased to meet Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Turkiye at ECO-COM.

They discussed full spectrum of their strategic partnership and committed to bolstering Pak-China cooperation in trade, investment, defense, education, culture, agriculture and science & technology.
