About ARF
In July 1993, in the Twenty-Sixth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting, the ASEAN states Ministers agreed to establish the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). The inaugural meeting of the forum was held on 25 July 1994, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The regional forum aims to foster constructive dialogue and consultation on political and security issues of concern and common interest.
Moreover, it promotes making significant contributions toward confidence-building and preventive diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific region.
