Australia's Foreign Minister, Marise Payne engages in a telephonic phone call with Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi to discuss bilateral cooperation and situation in Afghanistan.

Islamabad, 1 November 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Foreign Minister engaged in a telephonic conversation with Australia’s Foreign Minister, Marise Payne . During the call, Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen its bilateral relations with Australia.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke to strengthen the relations in a multitude of realms. These multitude realms suggested economy, trade, education, defense, agriculture and science, and technology. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed Pakistan’s utmost priority is to strengthen the bilateral relations.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood  exchanged views with Marise Payne on Afghanistan. He highlighted the importance of an international resolve for Afghanistan. He briefed the possibility of a surge in the economic and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and advocated for global assistance.

Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood conveyed the socio-political changes in Pakistan due to the situation in Afghanistan. In the telephonic conversation, He said that Pakistan is the geographical neighbor of Afghanistan and that Pakistan has been the most affected due to the situation in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister highlighted Pakistan’s contributions in helping Afghanistan to avert any probable crisis. Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi mentioned Pakistan’s efforts in evacuating Afghani citizens.

Marise Payne in the telephonic conversation welcomed the return of Pakistani students studying in Australia after Australia lifted its travel ban.
