Islamabad, 19 April 2024 (TDI): Coordinator on climate change Romina Khurshid Alam emphasized climate diplomacy to address the climate challenges including global warming, melting of glaciers, urban deforestation, heat waves, endangered rare species, and carbon credits.

She remarked this in a meeting with the ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Jakob Linulf who was called on her.

Both sides agreed on closer collaboration, knowledge sharing, and designing of joint activities on climate change. Prime Minister’s coordinator underscored the equitable distribution of funds to developing countries for fighting against the climate crisis.

It is now or never to deal with the climate crisis to save our future generations which would otherwise suffer heavily if attention was not paid at this point, she underlined.

Romina Khurshid Alam stressed region-wise solutions to climate as few countries have drought issues while others have flooding challenges.

The Danish ambassador while extending his felicitations to the Prime Minister’s coordinator on assuming responsibility for such an important subject applauded the proactive role and her vision to address the climate challenges.
