Ambassador Masood Khan highlighted various steps taken by the Government to improve ease of doing business in Pakistan

Washington DC, 24 June 2022 (TDI): The government of Pakistan is committed to offering the necessary support and a congenial environment for international investments.

It aims to explore the untapped potential of a vast market and rich human capital in Pakistan. The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Masood Khan, stated these remarks during a meeting with the delegation of Institutional Investment.

Furthermore, the Ambassador highlighted several initiatives by the government to improve the ease of doing business in Pakistan. Also, he underscored Pakistan’s keenness to become an attractive destination for investment.

In addition, he listed initiatives like simplification of the tax regime, establishing Special Economic Zones Framework in Pakistan (SEZs), and Special Technology Zones (STZAs), liberalization of the visa regime, and incentives for a new business to promote foreign direct investments in Pakistan.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to the US explained investment opportunities in Pakistan to the delegate of institutional investment.

For this purpose, the Ambassador emphasized making the regular regime business-friendly. At the same time, he also highlighted the landmark policy decisions to offer maximum returns and financial incentives to the export-oriented foreign companies.

Strengthening Ties with the US

Earlier, the Ambassador hosted the Chief Protocol of the United States, Ambassador Rufus Gifford, and thanked him for the facilitation by the Bureau. Further, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen US-Pakistan relations through high-level exchanges.

Investments and Incentives 

Meanwhile, Ambassador Masood Khan is taking concrete steps to attract potential investors to strengthen Pakistan SEZs.

On Thursday, he invited Vice President Cargill Inc. Colin D’Silva and Director Betsy Bryant Struse to Washington to highlight tangible economic incentives to the international business community.

Furthermore, he emphasized potential investment opportunities in the agriculture sector. On Thursday, Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, invited Cargill to invest in Special Economic Zones in Pakistan, which offers substantial economic incentives to international investors and the business community.

In addition, he said that Pakistan aims to benefit from the US’ expertise and would welcome US Foreign Direct Investment, especially in the agricultural sector.
