Pakistan’s AMAN Dialogue 2025 Naval Exercise Concludes

Karachi (TDI): The two-day AMAN Dialogue 2025 successfully concluded at the Pakistan Naval Academy, in Karachi. It held from February 7-11, brought together Chiefs and Heads of Navies, maritime organizations, and renowned academicians from around the world to discuss contemporary challenges in the maritime sector.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform, Ahsan Iqbal, graced the closing session of the 9th AMAN Dialogue as the Chief Guest, emphasizing the significance of international cooperation in ensuring maritime security.

The AMAN Dialogue 2025 served as a vital platform for strategic discussions, with global stakeholders engaging in meaningful debates to devise actionable strategies against emerging threats at sea. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf extended his gratitude to the international participants for their valuable contributions, highlighting AMAN’s evolution into a global initiative dedicated to meaningful dialogue and collective action in maritime security.

The event commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony at Pakistan Navy Dockyard, where flags of all participating nations including, China, Japan, Turkiye, Indonesia, and Malaysia were raised in the presence of senior military representatives, observers, diplomats, and officials. Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif inaugurated the dialogue as the Chief Guest, underscoring the necessity of shared experiences among maritime nations to counter rising security challenges.

In his keynote address, Senator Mushahid Hussain praised the Pakistan Navy’s  collaborative approach in addressing complex maritime security issues. He also acknowledged Pakistan Navy’s contributions to raising awareness about the Blue Economy and supporting the socio-economic development of coastal communities at the national level.

AMAN 2025 focused on enhancing global maritime cooperation in an increasingly interconnected world. The discussions covered a range of pressing issues, including countering maritime terrorism, securing trade routes, and leveraging naval diplomacy for regional stability. The exercise also reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to peace and security in the maritime domain, with participating nations applauding the Pakistan Navy’s leadership in fostering an inclusive and secure maritime environment.

Commander Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, highlighted Pakistan Navy’s unwavering dedication to collaborative maritime security and lauded the contributions of all participating countries. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen regional and extra-regional partnerships for a secure and stable maritime future.

The AMAN series has emerged as a premier international maritime security platform, facilitating dialogue and cooperation among global naval forces. Over the years, the initiative has evolved into a strategic framework for addressing contemporary maritime challenges through diplomacy, capacity building, and joint exercises.
