Islamabad (TDI): Six Pakistani students will visit Japan from December 10 to 17, 2024, as part of the JENESYS program.
These participants were extended an invitation by the government of Japan to join 41 other youths from SAARC countries.
JENESYS, an initiative by Japan, aims to strengthen ties between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.

Focused on “Energy”, the program helps participants understand Japan’s economy, society, history, politics, and culture.
It includes lectures, cultural experiences, and visits to various sites in Japan.
The Embassy of Japan in Islamabad organized a pre-departure orientation session for the Pakistani group. Ambassador-designate Akamatsu Shuichi addressed the participants. He encouraged them to make the most of their visit and learn about Japan. He highlighted the importance of cultural exchange during homestays in Japan.

The ambassador hoped that the youth would assist in developing good relations between Japan and Pakistan. He termed the program as a good channel for building friendship and sharing of ideas.
The Government of Japan has been facilitating youth from SAARC countries every year under the JENESYS program. The initiative is targeted at developing competencies and fostering collaboration among the future leaders of the region.
