Al Qouz, 28 July 2022 (TDI): Talabat hailed one of their riders after a video of him removing a concrete block from a busy street became viral today.

In the video, Pakistani national, Abdul Ghafoor Abdul Hakeem was waiting at the busy traffic intersection in Al Quoz as cars and trucks whizz by.

Once all the vehicles passed, Abdul Hakeem ran to remove two heavy concrete blocks, which seemed to have fallen out of a truck that drove by earlier.

However, Abdul Hakeem did not even realize that someone had taken a video until almost two weeks later.

In an interview, he said, “When I got a call from Talabat asking about the incident, I had no recollection of it, then they specified what time and which intersection in Al Quoz it was and that is when I suddenly remembered.”

Just like normal days, Abdul Hakeem was out for delivery that day and was waiting at the intersection when he realized the danger the fallen blocks posed.

After observing the blockage, he put his bike on its stand and rushed to the spot, and removed the blocks.

As an appreciation, netizens have hailed him for his selfless act and presence of mind. Meanwhile, Talabat called the incident “heartwarming” and thanked whoever took the video.

Such moments should be recorded as they have the power to impact our daily life and even help us drive positively.

Moreover, the safety of others on the roads is everyone’s responsibility, and this makes us proud of what Abdul Ghafoor has done by removing the concrete blocks off the streets to ensure the safety of other motorists and bike riders.

Further adding to this, Talabat has announced that they will reward Abdul Hakeem suitably as an appreciation and to promote such acts.

For Abdul Hakim, the appreciation was heartening, and hoped to see more patience toward riders as these are also a way of promoting kindness and selflessness in society.
