Pakistani parliamentary delegation lands in Belarus

Minsk, 19 August (TDI): A parliamentary delegation of Pakistan led by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, arrived in Belarus on Monday on an official visit.

Vadim Ipatov, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, welcomed the delegation at Minsk National Airport.

In a post on social media platform X, Sajjad Haider Khan, ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus, said that it was a great pleasure to welcome the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq along with the esteemed parliamentary delegation, visiting Belarus to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy.

Last week Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan and Belarus enjoyed cordial relationship based on a shared commitment to global peace and sustainable development.
The speaker made these remarks during a meeting with Andrei Metelitsa, Belarusian Envoy to Pakistan, who called on him at the Parliament last Monday.

The speaker further noted that it was crucial to enhance political, cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections between the two countries for the mutual benefit of the people on both sides.
According to a statement issues by the National Assembly, during the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of regional and global developments. They highlighted the significance of continuous collaboration to maintain positive bilateral relations and explore new areas of engagement.

Discussing the parliamentary cooperation, the speaker laid stress on regular interaction between parliaments, mainly through parliamentary friendship groups and the exchange of parliamentary delegations, in order to share and learn from each other’s experiences.
