Seoul, 15 August 2022 (TDI): The Embassy of Pakistan wished the heartiest congratulation on the 77th National Liberation Day of the Republic of Korea.

Republic of Korea’s National Liberation Day is also called Independence Day of Korea. The day marks the liberation of Korea from the occupation by Japan on 1945. The Korean peninsula officially gain independence on August 15, 1948.

Celebration of Pakistan’s independence in Korea

Both countries have recently celebrated the independence of Pakistan on 14 August in different cities including Tokyo and Islamabad.

Recently, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Pakistan large number of families from Pakistan celebrated the event at the Embassy of Pakistan in Korea.

This event includes a Flag hoisting ceremony in addition to the series of performances arranged by performers of both countries. Moreover, Korea’s Seoul City Hall building was lit with Pakistan flag colors on the occasion.

Moreover, these events and celebrations proved to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cordial relations between Seoul and Islamabad.

In the past, President Arif Alvi coded a message to President Monn Jae-in on the occasion of the 75th National Liberation Day of the Republic of Korea.

His message was based on mutual respect and cordial relations in the sector of Trade, and culture, and to enhance people-to-people cooperation.

Pakistan-Korea relations:

Both countries have periodically improved and enhanced their relations since the 1980s. Pakistan has its embassy in Seoul while both South Korea and North Korea have embassies in Islamabad. Secondly, Pakistan is among the fewest countries having cordial relations with South and North Korea.

Korea also provided assistance and aid worth $500,000 to Pakistan during Covid-19 through WHO.

Additionally, in April 2020, $300,000 was provided to Pakistan due to their efforts to control the pandemic. The country also provides Medical test kits and masks to avoid the virus for further separation.

Moreover, Korea donated 1 million dollars to empower Afghan refugees in July 2020. Officials from Korea visited the different refugee camps inside Pakistan and supported Pakistan’s efforts to make refugees’ life better.
