Islamabad (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar said on Saturday that Pakistan’s long-standing strategic partnership with China is rooted in trust and shared objectives, while reaffirming Islamabad’s support for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision for global development and peace.
In a statement, Dar noted that Pakistan values President Xi’s initiatives, which he said have contributed significantly to international cooperation and stability.
He added that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has emerged as a vital Eurasian platform, promoting collaboration in security, trade, energy, connectivity, and culture on the basis of mutual trust and shared growth.
The deputy prime minister said Pakistan looks forward to constructive high-level engagements with China’s leadership as well as with other SCO member states in the days ahead.

Pakistan and China enjoy close cooperation across multiple fronts, with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) serving as a flagship project under Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Officials in Islamabad say the initiative has not only boosted infrastructure and energy development but also created new opportunities for regional trade and connectivity.
Within the SCO framework, Pakistan has consistently advocated for collective responses to emerging challenges such as terrorism, climate change, and economic inequality.

Islamabad views the platform as a bridge between South, Central, and West Asia, and a means to advance regional peace and stability.
Analysts note that Pakistan’s endorsement of President Xi’s initiatives underscores its commitment to multilateral cooperation, while also reflecting the deepening alignment of Islamabad and Beijing on global issues ranging from development financing to conflict resolution.
