Tehran (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, on Monday appealed to Pakistani nationals in the country to register immediately with the embassy for repatriation, citing logistical challenges in arranging departures amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a post on X, the ambassador noted that securing transportation, particularly buses, had become increasingly difficult. “It is getting very hard to find the buses due to ongoing challenges here,” he wrote, urging Pakistanis, especially those in Qom, to cooperate with the embassy for immediate repatriation plans.
The appeal comes as tensions escalate following US and Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory Iranian missile attacks targeting US military bases and Israel. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier chaired a high-level security review and directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure the safe return of Pakistani citizens stranded in the region.

Many Pakistanis, including students, pilgrims, tourists, and traders, have already returned through the Taftan and Gwadar border crossings in Balochistan. Pakistani missions in Saudi Arabia have also deployed teams and launched 24-hour helplines at major airports to assist nationals amid the wider Gulf tensions.
