Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday received British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at the Ministry of Interior, where both sides pledged to further strengthen Pakistan–UK relations across areas of mutual interest.
Discussions focused on counterterrorism, counter-narcotics, border management, and human trafficking.
Both officials agreed to expand cooperation in these areas, stressing the need for closer coordination between law enforcement and security agencies.
High Commissioner Marriott congratulated Minister Naqvi on being awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, acknowledging his leadership and public service.

She also conveyed condolences over the loss of lives in recent floods and heavy rains in Pakistan, assuring solidarity with the affected families.
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on peace and security, Minister Naqvi said, “Pakistan has always been an advocate of peace and strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms.”

He highlighted Britain’s role as a reliable partner, noting that Islamabad seeks to deepen ties with London not only in security but also in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
The meeting reinforced the shared commitment of both countries to work together on regional and global challenges while creating new avenues for cooperation that reflect their long-standing partnership.
