Karachi, 5 February 2024 (TDI): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between The Authority of Karachi Port Trust Pakistan-UAE Ports Group.
The occasion marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that paved the way for the Outsourcing of Operations of Bulk and General Cargo Terminal at seven (7) Berths of East Wharf Karachi Port.
Moreover, the MoU aims to strengthen bilateral relations in the marine and logistic sectors of Pakistan-UAE.
Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Federal Minister for Communication, Railways and Maritime Affairs along with other high officials from the Pakistani side and Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan along with other high officials from UAE side were present in the MoU signing ceremony.

“During my recent visit to the United Arab Emirates, I conveyed the formalization of pivotal agreements that signal the commencement of a new chapter in the economic collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE. This occurred during my meeting with Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the visiting trade minister.”
Moreover, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the growth of exchanges, interaction, and cooperation between businesses in Pakistan and the UAE.
In the previous year, Kakar undertook a visit to the UAE with the aim of strengthening the trade and economic bonds between the two nations and shedding light on investment prospects across various economic sectors in Pakistan.
