Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Turkiye have reiterated their resolve to deepen parliamentary cooperation as Ambassador Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate, met with Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, Turkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad.
Ambassador Khar, accompanied by Tariq Bin Waheed, Director General (Protocol) of the Senate, briefed the Turkish envoy on the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), a newly established global forum bringing together parliamentary leaders and world figures to address peace, conflict resolution, stability, and security.
She noted that Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani’s unanimous election as the first President of the ISC reflects the international community’s confidence in Pakistan’s leadership role.

Extending a formal invitation, Ambassador Khar invited the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye to attend the first ISC session, scheduled for November 11–12, 2025, in Islamabad under the theme Peace, Stability and Security.

Ambassador Neziroğlu welcomed the initiative, reaffirming Türkiye’s strong ties with Pakistan and pledging his country’s full support for the ISC as a platform of growing global relevance.
Ambassador Khar, in turn, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with Türkiye to advance parliamentary diplomacy and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
