Pakistan, Tunisia Agree to Strengthen Multilateral Coordination

Tunis (TDI): Pakistan and Tunisia have agreed to enhance coordination in multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during the 4th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations held in Tunis.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary (Africa) Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, while Tunisia was represented by Director General (Asia), Ambassador Slim Ghariani.

Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, covering political cooperation, high-level exchanges, trade and investment, defense and security collaboration, education, and people-to-people contacts.

They also discussed ways to deepen economic ties ahead of the 10th Joint Commission Meeting, scheduled in Islamabad in 2026.

The consultations included discussions on regional and international developments, particularly the situations in the Middle East, Palestine, and North Africa.

Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan also met Mohamed Ben Ayed, Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting collaboration across all sectors.

Pakistan and Tunisia share longstanding and cordial relations, marked by mutual respect and cooperation. This year marks the 67th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
