What is Startup Germany Tour?
The Startup Germany Tour is a mainly digital tour and is about bringing international startups from abroad in touch with corporates and important players from North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).
Only five startups per country are allowed to be part of the Startup Germany Tour. This selection is made by the local partners of the program.
The startups then get the opportunity, during the main program in October, to get in touch with the local companies, accelerators, institutions, and potential investors. There are four phases of this tour:
- Exploring
- Challenging
- Connecting
- Extending
In the Exploring phase, there had been nine webinars in which useful information about the location of NRW and its vibrating industries as well as how to do business in Germany/NRW successfully was provided. It started on June 8 and ended on August 25.
The second phase will be the Challenging phase which will start on August 30 and will remain till September 7. This will be the preliminary contest which will consist of five regional pitch competitions; Europe, Africa, MENA, North & South America, and Asia.
The third phase will be the Connecting Phase which will start on October 23 and end on October 26. This will be the main program in which within reverse pitches, matchmakings, discussions, and a digital fair, the participants will get to know exciting companies, accelerators, investors, and institutions.
The final phase will be the Extending phase in which the finalist will get an exclusive additional day in NRW/Germany.
