Pakistan Moves to Evacuate Zaireen from Iran

Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered all concerned authorities to extend full support to ensure the safety and secure return of Pakistani pilgrims currently in Iran in the wake of Israel’s deadly attacks.

Pakistan’s Embassy in Iran has also been directed to remain vigilant and provide active assistance to the Zaireen.

PM Shehbaz emphasized that no effort should be spared in protecting Pakistani nationals and ensuring their safe return.

“All necessary steps must be taken without delay,” the premier said, underscoring the importance of proactive engagement and mobilization of resources until the situation in the region stabilizes.

In line with these directives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a 24/7 Crisis Management Unit (CMU) to offer continuous support to nationals in the affected area.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the activation of the unit and shared the embassy’s emergency hotline: (0098)-2166941388.

The Foreign Office has also issued an advisory urging Pakistani pilgrims to postpone travel plans to Iran and Iraq, citing the deteriorating security climate.

“Our diplomatic mission in Iran remains on high alert, fully engaged with the local authorities and our citizens,” said FM Dar in a post on X.

The government reiterated its commitment to closely monitoring the regional developments and to extending full diplomatic and logistical support to ensure the wellbeing of all Pakistanis currently abroad.
