Pakistan Slams Modi’s Remarks as Misinformation, Opportunism

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has categorically rejected the provocative and inflammatory assertions made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address on Monday, stating that his recent statement reflects a propensity to fabricate misleading narratives to justify aggression.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said, “At a time when global efforts are being made for regional peace and stability, this statement represents a dangerous escalation rooted in misinformation, political opportunism, and a blatant disregard for international law.”

He stated that Pakistan remained committed to the recent ceasefire understanding with India and taking necessary measures towards de-escalation and regional stability.

He further said that this ceasefire is the result of the facilitation of several friendly nations, which contacted us with a message of defusing the tensions.

The portrayal of Pakistan as seeking a ceasefire in “despair and frustration” is yet another blatant lie, he added.

The spokesperson said that India exploited the Pahalgam attack without credible proof to accuse Pakistan, justify its unlawful military actions, fulfill domestic political objectives, divert attention from growing communal tensions, human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and reinforce a fabricated narrative of a perpetual external threat.

After the illegal and unprovoked attacks by India against innocent civilians in Pakistan on a false pretext of terrorism, and despite Islamabad’s restraint, India dangerously escalated the situation further by attacking the military bases, risking an uncontrollable war.

Indian moves set a dangerous precedent for aggression, dragging the whole region to the brink of big war. This shows the attitude of a revisionist actor that wants to destroy peace in South Asia without regard for consequences.

The spokesperson said that New Delhi was justifying the brutal killings of innocent civilians, mostly children and women, as well as its highly irresponsible brinkmanship, as the “new normal” for the region.

“Pakistan totally rejects this assertion,” he added.
