Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has strongly denounced the Israeli parliament’s move to extend its so-called “sovereignty” over the Occupied West Bank, calling it a blatant breach of international law and a fresh attempt to legitimize an illegal occupation.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the step “deliberate and provocative,” accusing Israel of once again showing disregard for Palestinian rights and global norms.
“These unilateral actions are not just illegal, they threaten the fragile regional balance and sabotage the already slim chances of achieving lasting peace,” it said.

The statement urged the international community to take concrete steps to hold Israel accountable for defying United Nations Security Council resolutions and violating international humanitarian law.
The MOFA made it clear that such actions would have no legal standing and would not change the globally recognized status of Palestinian territory under occupation.

Reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, he said the country firmly backs the right of Palestinians to self-determination. “Our position remains unchanged,” it said.
“We support the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, as laid out in relevant UN resolutions.”
