Islamabad (TDI): The Pakistan Army on Tuesday shot down an Indian quadcopter drone near the Line of Control in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as tensions between the two countries linger on in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.
The April 22 attack killed 26 individuals, mostly tourists, and was one of the deadliest armed attacks in the occupied territory since 2000.
“Pakistan has successfully shot down an Indian quadcopter along LoC, thwarting a violation of its airspace,” state media reported citing security sources.
Security sources said the enemy tried to conduct surveillance using a drone in the Manawar sector of Bhimber district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Monday that Pakistan was ready for any incursion by India.
“We have strengthened our forces as the threat now appears imminent. In such a scenario, strategic decisions were necessary, and those decisions have already been taken,” Asif said.
He further said that the military had briefed the government on the possibility of an Indian attack, but did not provide any details, according to Reuters.
In his interviews with local news channels, the defense minister said that there was a war looming on the horizon, and the next two to three days were crucial.
