Rawalpindi (TDI): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral defense ties, with a focus on joint training, operational collaboration, and the exchange of professional expertise, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The announcement followed meetings between Pakistan’s Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and senior Saudi military officials, including Lieutenant General Turki bin Bander bin Abdulaziz, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, and General Fayiadh bin Hameed Al-Rowaily, Chief of the General Staff.

Upon arrival, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu was received with a guard of honour by the Royal Saudi Air Force. The discussions covered current bilateral defense cooperation, regional security dynamics, and future avenues for collaboration.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing level of engagement and agreed to enhance cooperation through joint training exercises, operational collaboration, and professional exchanges. The Pakistan-Saudi defense agreement was highlighted as a symbol of mutual trust and enduring brotherly relations.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the historic ties between the two countries and underlined Pakistan Air Force’s transformation into a multi-domain force, integrating space, cyber, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence capabilities, demonstrated through its operational performance.

Saudi officials praised the professionalism, operational readiness, and combat capabilities of the PAF, expressing keen interest in expanding collaboration in multi-domain operations. They also acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

The ISPR said the visit reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and underscores the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in defense and aviation sectors.
