Pakistan, Russia Forge New Trade Ties at Moscow Investment Forum

Moscow (TDI): Pakistan’s business delegation in Russia led by Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization & Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has made significant breakthroughs in trade and business relations between the two countries.

This was achieved during the Pakistan-Russia Trade and Investment Forum. During the forum, which kicked off on Tuesday in Moscow, delegations from the two sides signed several mutual investment agreements.

Over 70 companies are part of the Pakistani delegation, while more than 100 companies from Russia attended the forum.

Today, a key meeting was held between the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Platonov Vladimir, and federal minister Aleem Khan.

“The meeting focused on cooperation in sectors such as IT technology, Safe City projects, and establishing IT centres,” according to a statement from the ministry. The two sides also discussed expanding trade in leather, textiles, agriculture, fruits, and vegetables.

Several MOUs were signed by Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Russia’s Deputy Minister for Trade Alexey Gruzdev, and Russian Federation Advisor Evgeny Fidchuk. The agreements will enhance the import and export of food products between the two countries.

Minister Abdul Aleem Khan hailed the visit as successful and emphasized Pakistan’s readiness for joint ventures with Russia to promote bilateral business.

It was decided that both sides would compile a list of companies for future cooperation. On the occasion, the minister also invited the Russian delegation to participate in the Textile Expo in Pakistan later this October.

Aleem ensured that the Russian delegation would receive full hospitality, including air tickets, accommodation, and transport.

President Platonov Vladimir, Vice President Ms Mishchenko Vladislav, and UMS Head Ms Lukashenko Lidiya Aleksandrovna expressed gratitude to Abdul Aleem Khan.

They highlighted opportunities for cooperation in high-tech sectors, minerals, and information technology. Pakistani Senators Danish Kumar and Zia Longo, along with Russian Senators Mr. Chezouv and Ms. Sakharova, also attended the forum.
